Collaboration = Good Opportunity

We were never meant to do this life alone.

Collaboration on anything is key to success and continued success. Some of the great successes in business were because of collaborative efforts.

For example, movie directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas (though considered creative rivals) collaborated on movies that became great successes! Ex: Indiana Jones

Unfortunately, we don't often find collaboration a "win" in a "me" centered hustle culture. We fear ideas being taken, relationships being muddied, financial ruin and other potential tragedies that could come of collaboration. When in essence, if connected with the right individuals, through solid, nurtured relationships, collaboration can bring about great opportunities.

What one should and embrace the most is individual growth in self and career through such relationships. Oftentimes others help us do better, be better and excel in our own endeavors without us knowing it. You're as strong as your village, those that surround you. Or as my dad would quip, "Fly with the eagles, don't hang out with the seagulls." Take that as you will. Eagles soar with confidence and seagulls hang out in fast food parking lots scavenging for fries. (Just some analogies to keep this interesting. Not looking to debate birds and how they survive.)

When taking this life head on, whether in business, marriage, friendship, partnership, etc...consider the "what if" when collaboration comes to mind. The hardest part is often when the other person does what you do. It's our natural instinct to want to go to war with them, treat them as a rival. When in essence, we're human and can learn so much more. Consider building up another human rather than destroying their livelihood and business, just because they may be competition. In giving, we gain so much more and often never see it because we may be blind to the reality that giving and collaboration truly makes the world go round.

I hope this encourages you today to work with one another, seek out new opportunities and give future partnerships a try.
